James Mackinder and Mark Rogers return to St Nicholas Church
March 8, 2024 There is a return to St Nicholas Church in Chiswick for a classical music duo who will be performing an afternoon concert. Clarinettist James Mackinder and pianist Mark Rogers previously performed at the venue last July and will be returning on Sunday 17 March at 3pm with a programme that will include music by Horovitz, Finzi and Weber. Currently following the Master of Arts programme at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM), James made his professional orchestral debut with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) in February 2022 performing in their Rush Hour and School Concerts, Mark Rogers is an American pianist specializing in vocal and chamber music. He has been a Young Artist at the Leeds Lieder Festival, the Ludlow English Song Weekend, the Britten-Pears program and has played for masterclasses with Christian Gerhaher, Martin Mark performs recitals regularly with musicians on the Countess of Munster and Philharmonia schemes and has played concerts at Scottish Parliament, the Malmö Radhuset, and a series of recitals at Atelier Ferrandou in the south of France with cellist Kristian Chojecki. Tickets cost £10 in advance or on the door and are £5 for students and for an additional £5 tea and cake will be available afterwards. All profits go to support emerging local young musicians at St Nicholas Church. St Nicholas Church is at Church Street, Chiswick, W4 2PJ. It is the earliest of the parish churches of Chiswick. Founded some 1,300 years ago, it was rebuilt in the 1880s, but the tower dates from 1425. |
