St Peter’s Acton Green opens its doors for a well-timed Rush Hour Concert on Friday 31 July at 6pm, offering an hour of world-class chamber music.
The acclaimed Salomé Quartet, joined by cellist Shizuku Tatsuno, performs one of the towering masterpieces of the repertoire: Schubert’s String Quintet in C major, D956 — a work celebrated for its luminous slow movement, dramatic contrasts and profound emotional reach.
The Salomé Quartet have rapidly become one of the UK’s most compelling young ensembles, praised by The Strad as “strikingly intelligent and expressive”. Their performances span major venues including Wigmore Hall, the Barbican and Cadogan Hall, and they bring that same artistry to Acton Green for this intimate evening performance.
Tatsuno, a founding member of the quartet and a distinguished soloist in her own right, joins them to complete Schubert’s richly textured five-part sound world.
The concert begins at 6pm (doors at 5.30pm) and lasts one hour — perfect for rounding off the week with music of depth, beauty and warmth. In keeping with St Peter’s commitment to accessibility, tickets are £15, £7.50 for under-25s, students and unwaged listeners, and free for under-18s, with a Pay What You Can option to ensure everyone feels welcome.
