The clothing and accessories boutique Jigsaw has opened in Chiswick today (October 16).

The shop will mainly sell women’s clothing and accessories but has a small range of menswear and childrens’ clothing as Jigsaw Junior.

It has moved into the premises vacated by Kew 159 on the Chiswick High Road. Both stores are owned by the same company, Robinson Webster (Holdings) Ltd.

Jigsaw was where Kate Middleton worked as an assistant accessories consultant in 2006 when she was going out with Prince William. Her mother helped designed the Jigsaw junior website.

Jigsaw is a British company founded by John Robinson in 1972, and still privately owned by him and his wife Belle. They opened their first store in Hampstead and have since expanded to over 40 stores in the UK, and created additional lines, Jigsaw Junior, Jigsaw Home and Jigsaw Menswear. In 2004 Jigsaw opened on the West Coast of the USA where it currently trades from six stores.

In 2005 it turned over £88 million.

The company philosophy is to sell affordable, fashionable clothes in stylish surroundings. Much of the range is inspired by country living, and it offers design classics updated with the latest colours and fabrics. In addition to Jigsaw, the group includes The Shop at Bluebird, selling designer brands on London’s King's Road
