The family meets the Chiswick forum readers
The bag of family photographs abandoned in Chiswick after a robbery was handed over to its owners by ChiswickW4.com readers during the week. A group of members of the website forum became internet sleuths when they hunted down the mystery graduate in one of the photographs which had been found by Dan Spurrier in Milnthorpe Road.
Pictured above are (l to r), Dan, Elaine, (the owner of the photographs), her daughter Hazel (the mystery graduate) and Jim Lawes, who with forum stalwarts Esther Gibbs and Ian Wylie, turned to Twitter to track down the family. The hessian bag with the logo of the bakery in Bridport contained a wedding album and a number of family photographs. The bag was in Elaine’s BMW car which had been stolen while she was moving to a new flat in Chiswick from Bridport, Dorset. The bag with the photos was found in Milnthorpe Road, Chiswick. The handover took place in a well known Chiswick pub, where the grateful recipients were anxious to buy their new friends a round of drinks.
The drama began when Chiswick resident Dan Spurrier posted a message on ChiswickW4.com's Forum recently. When the photograph (above) was posted on Twitter, it was spotted by someone who recognised Hazel as the graduate and she was put into contact with Jim Lawes. The family said they were thrilled that people had gone to so much trouble to reunite them with their precious photographs.
