Drivers and cyclists are warned to avoid the Chiswick High Road junction with Turnham Green terrace tonight ( July 11) and tomorrow, Friday (July 12 ) as resurfacing work will start from 8 pm each night.

A Council spokesman has said improvements at this junction are proceeding to plan and in fact are a week ahead of schedule.  All the kerb-lines are now in place.  Resurfacing will now take place, overnight, on Thursday night 11/7 and Friday night 12/7.

Work will start about 8pm each night.  The noisiest works (associated with the ironwork) should be completed by 11pm but the resurfacing will proceed through the night.

"There will obviously be some disruption to local residents and businesses.  As Chiswick High Road is part of the Strategic Road Network, this work must be done overnight.  Nevertheless, our apologies to anyone who is disturbed or inconvenienced by the noise and dust associated with this essential work."

Drivers and cyclists would be best to avoid the area if at all possible.

Over the next few weeks the footways will be completed and the new traffic signals and street lighting columns installed.
