Two prominent Labour MPs visited Chiswick to campaign with Labour's candidate for next year's election, Ruth Cadbury. Diane Abbott, the MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington joined Ruth on a door-to-door visit to talk to locals.

In 1987 Diane Abbott made history by becoming the first black woman to be elected to Parliament- she is a well known broadcaster and commentator as well as a politician.

They were joined by Heidi Alexander, MP for Lewisham East, and Labour MEP Seb Dance. Local Labour Party members were also with them.

The walkabout marks the start of Labour's campaigning activities in Chiswick in advance of the general election in May 2015 in which Ruth Cadbury will challenge sitting MP Mary Macleod for the Brentford & Isleworth seat.
