The Southfield Ward Safer Neighbourhoods Panel is having its Annual General Meeting tonight (Wednesday, 25 September), at the Carlton Road Day Centre, W4 5DY at 7.00 pm.

The AGM is open to the public and an important item of business on the evening is the election of the Panel members who will represent the residents of Southfield ward for the next 12 months.

Every ward in London has its own dedicated Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) of Police and Community Support Officers.  However, few people know that, since 2006, every ward has also had an officially recognised Safer Neighbourhoods Panel made up of members of the community who live or work in the ward. This Panel meets regularly to discuss, with the local SNT and the council's Safer Communities Team, the concerns facing the local community around crime and anti-social behaviour.  It selects and prioritises the issues which the local police team will focus on to help make the community a safer place in which to live and work.
