Local Group Seeks Archive Film

Strand on the Green subject of Jubilee Year project

An appeal for any archive film of the Strand on the Green area has been made by a local residents' group.

The Strand on the Green Association is compiling a film for the 2012 year as an archive record of Strand on the Green, its people, its houses and its views.

The chairman, Robert Colvill, said they were hoping to have a 15-20 minute film ready by mid-January 2012 which would commemorate the Jubilee Year.

They are in the process of carrying out film interviews with local residents and are on the hunt for filmed material from the past which they can blend in with their other material.

They already have lots of stills of the area and would prefer filmed footage which is not of a personal nature.
