The West London River Group is concerned that an ancient willow tree at Strand On The Green appears to have been poisoned.

The tree appears to be dying and the WLRG says that an inspection of the tree outside Carlton House revealed several mysterious pencil-sized holes bored into the trunk.

“We suspect that this tree is being deliberately tampered with and is possibly being poisoned,” they said. Local people alerted the Group to the situation- a nearby willow appears in good health.

Tree officers from the Council and Councillors have been alerted.
