Would you like to know more about identifying birds and, in particular, the river wildlife around Chiswick Pier? The Chiswick Pier Trust have organised for Keith Martin to show us how we can get to know birds through a variety of ways such as how they move and sound. Many of us stroll along the river without always knowing what we are looking at.

The aim of this event on April 20th is to help us start thinking like a birdwatcher. The plan is to walk from the Pier House downstream, across Hammersmith Bridge, upriver to the Leg O'Mutton Reservoir opposite the Pier, back across Barnes Railway Bridge and downstream to the Pier.

All are welcome, but you must be able to walk for up to three hours. So comfortable walking shoes, and layers are essential, and a bottle of water is a good idea, as we do not stop and there are no shops and cafes on most of the walk. If you have binoculars, please bring them.

Group size is limited to 25, so booking is essential. You can get tickets from the Pier House or by applying in writing enclosing a cheque made out to Chiswick Pier Trust. The event is free to members of the Chiswick Pier Trust or £3 for non- members. Chiswick Pier and Chiswick Pier House are at the end of Corney Road and Edensor Road, Chiswick, W4 2UG.
