Former top scorer soon to be a Premier League Striker?
Old Meadonians will kick off their eighty-fourth season on Wednesday 18th July when training starts at Riverside Lands at 7pm under the watchful direction of arguably the most successful coaches in top London ‘pay to play’ league, The Amateur Football Combination, Paul Rumley and Rory Vermeulen. In their eight seasons in charge of Meads’ first team Rumley and Vermeulen have netted no fewer than fifteen trophies and will hope to maintain this enviable record. Vermeulen has already flagged up the need for the club to make two or three new signings and the latest news that former Meads’ top scorer Albert Adomah, currently with Bristol City, has been targeted for a £3M move to Premier Division Swansea City by City’s new manager Michael Laudrup, will no doubt stimulate interest in joining Meads.
