A double treat for rowing fans as course passes through Chiswick

The race, which is one of the highest participatory events in London, has attracted many overseas entrants this year, including 30 entries from Germany.

On Sunday, the Vesta Veterans International Eights Head of the River Race will be held. The rowing race is held annually on the River Thames over the Championship Course .

It is open to veteran (now known as masters) eights, who race in categories determined by the average ages of the eight rowers. The race always takes place on the day following the Head of the River Race.

The race will start at 1200 GMT, racing from Mortlake to Putney.
