With three weeks to go until the Mayoral elections, Hounslow Council is reminding residents that the deadline to register to vote is this Wednesday (18 April).

The elections, which take place on 3 May, are for the Mayor of London and the 25 Members of the London Assembly. The Mayor and Assembly will make decisions about issues that relate to transport, policing, the environment, housing and economic development, all of which impact on the lives of those residing and working in Hounslow.

Chief Executive Mary Harpley said: “If you want to vote in these elections, you must make sure you are registered to vote by Wednesday 18 April. It only takes a few minutes to register, so make sure you can have your say.”

The deadline to register to vote or to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on April 18.

You can vote if you are:

·         Aged 18 or over on 3 May 2012
