Transport for London (TfL) have announced that they will close the A4 Flyover every night, from midnight until 5:00am (with a plan to be off site by 3:30am) from Thursday 8th March until Monday 12th March 2012.

This will be a nightly full closure with a fully signed diversion route. Should the works be completed earlier than planned, the flyover will be opened.

Work to repair Hammersmith Flyover is on track to be completed well ahead of the Olympic Games according to TfL although no specific date has been given for full reopening.

They say that the repairs will ensure the flyover remains in use for many decades countering fears that the structure would need to be totally rebuilt after the Olympics.

The first new tensioning cables are to be installed during coming months with diamond cutting being used to remove the existing concrete.
