Just two weekend closures still to come during August
Refurbishment of the Hammersmith Flyover is coming to an end after nearly two years of round-the-clock repair work. This weekend, the westbound carriageway of the flyover will be closed on Sunday August 2 as part of the RideLondon cycling event. The A4 forms part of the ride's outbound route and will be closed from 5am until 3pm. The remaining full weekend closure, which was planned for Friday August 7 - Monday August10, is now subject to change after bad weather during July stopped the work before completion. This final weekend's works will now be rescheduled for an as-yet unconfirmed date. During the remaining closure, traffic will be diverted beneath the flyover or onto the A40 Western Avenue, with the diversion route clearly signed. TfL says there may also be some further overnight closures during August as the repairs are finished, which will be undertaken at night to minimise disruption. There is a warning that buses may be delayed, diverted, or stop short of their final destination. TfL says it apologises in advance for the inconvenience caused by these essential works.
