Aged 10-16? Enter the 100 Great Things Poetry Competition
A poetry competition is being held for London school children, aged 10-16 to celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games. The winner will get an exclusive Olympic Park bus tour for up to 30 of their friends and family. Plus the first 100 young Londoners to entry will receive a ‘100 Great Things about the Games’ note pad. Poetry should be based on what young Londoners think about the Games. Inspiration can be found by visiting www.london.gov.uk/games The deadline for all entries is Wednesday 30 November 2011. In addition to the poetry competition inspired by the 2012 Games, Boris is backing a literacy push through his Team London scheme. Team London is the Mayor’s plan to get more people volunteering in the capital in order to help tackle some of the city’s social issues. Under the Team London banner, Literacy Champions, delivered by the National Literacy Trust, aim to raise the literacy levels of children aged 3-5.
