How do you like the idea of creating your own gorgeous costume or building a giant puppet, or creating a comic character on stilts or learning a special processional Bollywood dance? Or would you like to try everything on offer?  Well you can!

This year the London Mela celebrates its 10th birthday and wants to mark this occasion in style with a spectacular carnival and is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, creative young people aged 9 -13  who would like to be part of the 2012 Carnival Parade. Emergency Exit Arts is working with Watermans to host a summer school with young people who will perform at the carnival.

Artists from Emergency Exit Arts and Nutkhut, two of the UK’s leading outdoor carnival and street theatre companies, will be on hand to make sure you have four days jam packed with fun and creativity.

The diamond in the crown of this year’s London Mela is the Mela Fanfare, featuring a performance by the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Mela Carnival which will be produced and directed by Emergency Exit Arts with the London Mela.

To take part in a series of FREE workshops, register quickly with Watermans Box Office 020 8232 1010 for this is an opportunity to be part of one of the most exciting events in 2012 right on your doorstep in West London.

For more details about the workshops go to www.watermans.org.uk

The London Mela will be held in Gunnersbury Park on Sunday 19th August.
