Record success for Chiswick Community School
Chiswick Community School achieved record GCSE results this year echoing their A' Level success. 64% of all students at the school achieved grades A*-C across all subjects and 54% of students achieved grades A*-C including English and Mathematics. Headteacher Alan Howson told ChiswickW4.com, "In terms of progress this puts us in line with the top 25% of schools in the country and reflects the ‘rapid improvement’ in standards as reported by OFSTED. I’m very proud that these are the best ever results for Chiswick Community School. It’s a team effort and a real testament to all of the hard work of staff and students." While the whole school picture is excellent, there are a great many stories of incredible individual achievement amongst the students. Thomas Eames achieved 8 A* grades and 5 As, Harry Burdon achieved 8 A* grades and 4 As, James Fell achieved 10 A* grades and 2 A grades as did William Smith. Tatjana Damjanovic achieved 9 A* grades and an A grade, Joel Brocklehurst achieved 10 A grades and an A*. Nancy Case achieved 7 A* grades and 3 grade As, Alice Broughton achieved 4 A* grades and 7 A grades, Hania Akram achieved 5 A*s and 6 A grades. Not only did Nicholas Carpenter manage to attain 2A* grades and 7 A grades but also achieved AS level German at grade A. Robert Berchtold proved a particular success story. He managed to take his qualifications a year early achieve 6 A* grades, 4 A grades and 4 B grades. Headteacher Alan Howson commented that, "There are some wonderful individual results at the highest level and a great deal of solid success across the school. The figures speak for themselves. I’d like to congratulate all the students and staff on their efforts. The success is richly deserved."
