'Administrative error' blamed for two year applications being accepted

When asked why the new two year residents' parking permits had been withdrawn and all trace removed from Hounslow's website, a spokesperson for the Council blamed an 'administrative error'.

He explained: "Parking Services were in the process of giving consideration to issuing two year permits for residents of the Borough, however due to an administrative error two year permits applications were being accepted before a decision was reached, hence this error was left to continue unchecked.

"Parking Management has since decided that two year permits will not be considered and all reference to this has since been removed from the website and all permit applications have been updated with this information."
