Fusion Lifestyle, operator of local leisure centres in partnership with Hounslow Council invite locals of all ages to dive into the world’s biggest fundraising swim at their pools in Brentford, Hanworth, Heston, Isleworth and New Chiswick between 26th – 28 th April

Held at over 600 pools across the UK from 26-28 April, Swimathon 2013 sees thousands of swimmers challenge themselves through 5k, 2.5k and 1.5k individual challenges or Team 5k/1.5k challenges, while raising vital funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care to provide care and support for terminally ill people at the end of their lives.

Last year, Swimathon participants at pools operated by Fusion Lifestyle raised over £96,000 including over £10,000 at New Chiswick Pool on Edensor Road who raised the most out of every Fusion Lifestyle Pool in the UK. This year Fusion is raising the bar and aiming to raise over £100,000.

Dan Reynolds, Head of Community Development at Fusion commented; “This is always a stand-out event in our leisure centre’s calendars, it is a great way for people to get active and raise money for a fantastic cause.”

Swimathon President and Olympic Gold Medallist Duncan Goodhew ( pictured above) said: “With the start of the New Year, what better way to kick-start a healthy new fitness regime than hitting the pool and training up for a Swimathon challenge. Every stroke counts as our dedicated Swimathon 2013 swimmers raise funds for Marie Cure Cancer Care by swimming one of our individual or team challenges.

Swimmers in Hounslow can participate at Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre, TW8 0HJ, Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre, TW13 5EG, Heston Pool, TW5 0LW, Isleworth Leisure Centre, TW7 7EUF and New Chiswick Pool, W4 2RG. Swimmer entry is open at www.swimathon.org until 24 April 2013.
