Skiplex Launches UK's First Indoor Ski Simulator | ||
Snow Joke! Come along to their open weekend at Dukes Meadows
The new Skiplex Centre at Dukes Meadows Golf & Tennis in Chiswick will provide the region with indoor training facilities where users can learn to perfect skiing and snowboarding techniques on advanced ski slope simulators, accompanied by personal skiing instructors. The artificial ski slope simulator, which is endorsed by Chemmy Alcott, Britain’s No 1 skier, is similar in size to a squash court, and provides a safe and fully controllable skiing environment powered by a hydraulic system. The incline of the slope and speed of the moving track are adjustable to suit the user’s experience and ability. A video showing users enjoying Skiplex can be found at www.youtube.com/theskiplex. The facilities are ideal for ongoing skiing training and as a practice aid for beginners and improvers. Beginners learning to ski at the Skiplex Centre can expect to learn up to 8 times quicker than on real ski slopes, replacing the need for expensive ski lessons in resort. Skiplex training is an exciting new way to exercise and provides a thorough fitness work out, whatever your age and ability. Families, local residents and groups are all welcome to attend the open weekend at Dukes Meadows Golf & Tennis in Chiswick on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October 2011 from 9am until 6pm, where they can experience the UK’s first indoor ski simulator for free. All the ski clothing and equipment required will be provided and there will also be the opportunity to book further lessons at a special introductory rate.
