CP Hart Looks Set to Move to Prominent High Road Corner Site

Luxury bathroom retailer CP Hart appears to be preparing to move into one of Chiswick’s most prominent commercial units. The shop is currently based in the parade on Acton Lane slated for demolition but it has secured planning approval for new illuminated signage at 2 Chiswick High Road.
Hounslow Council has granted permission for the new signs at the former Handelsbanken premises on the corner of Chiswick High Road and Goldhawk Road. The decision, listed under application P/2026/1355, is a strong indication of the planned move although the company has not responded to our request for confirmation.
The building, previously home to HSBC before being taken over by Handelsbanken, has been vacant since late 2023. The site’s availability quickly attracted commercial interest, with marketing materials highlighting its strategic position at the junction of King Street and Goldhawk Road, secure rear parking for up to four vehicles, and excellent transport links with Stamford Brook Station just a short walk away. The unit was advertised at offers over £69,500 per annum, with a rent of £35 per sq ft, a service charge of £1,500 per year and business rates of £12.87 per sq ft.
CP Hart, founded in 1937, is one of the UK’s longest-established luxury bathroom specialists. Known for high-end design, bespoke installations and premium European brands, the company has grown from a small London workshop into a nationwide business serving homeowners, architects, interior designers and developers.
The relocation comes at a time of wider change along Acton Lane near Chiswick High Road. Earlier this year, Hounslow Council approved plans for a five-storey dementia care home at 1–15 Chiswick Terrace, requiring the demolition of a parade of independent shops and residential flats. The development will provide 85 ensuite bedrooms, operated by Care Concern Group, with five rooms reserved for Hounslow residents at a discounted rate under a Section 106 agreement.
