Could Third Time Be a Charm for Morrisons Daily? |

Store by Turnham Green station might really be opening this time June 7, 2026 The long-delayed Morrisons Daily on Turnham Green Terrace may finally be preparing to open its doors, after residents reported receiving flyers stating that the store will launch on Thursday 11 June. If correct, this would mark the third advertised opening date for the convenience store, which has repeatedly pushed back its debut since March. The franchisee appears confident enough to promote a firm date one again, even though the store’s external branding has still not been installed. By Saturday, the only visible signage was a temporary banner hung over the former art shop frontage, with no Morrisons fascia in place. Although no planning application has been submitted for new signage at the Chiswick site, consent might not be required if the signs are not illuminated. Some Morrisons Daily franchisees have previously complained that late delivery of branded fascias has delayed their openings, as agreements require Morrisons to inspect and approve the signage before a store can legally begin trading. Despite the branding gap, activity inside the unit has increased significantly. Refrigerated display cases, shelving and other equipment have now been installed, and contractors have been seen working on site. The store appears close to operational readiness. The latest development follows a series of missed opening dates. The shop was first advertised locally as opening in late March, before being revised to May, and then again to early June. On 16 May, Morrisons head office said the delay was due to “necessary property works”, while staff working on site suggested they were aiming for 8 June after this deadline passed. The unit, formerly home to the long-running Art & Craft shop, has been empty since June 2024. The new store is being operated as a franchise by Liquorify Ltd, which secured a licence from Hounslow Council in January permitting alcohol sales from 6am to 11pm daily. Once open, the shop is expected to offer the standard Morrisons Daily range, including fresh and frozen food, household essentials, toiletries and newspapers. Plans submitted to the council show investment in CCTV, an electronic refusals register for age-restricted products and other compliance systems, with a mezzanine level providing additional storage. The opening will be welcomed by many local residents, particularly following the closure of the Tesco Express on Chiswick High Road last month, which has left the area with one fewer small supermarket.
