On Sunday 18th January 206 Chiswick Army Cadet Detachment competed in our Sector's cross country run at Horsenden Hill Perivale. There were about 30 units competing this year with one of the biggest turnout for cadets in the last decade, with over 100 junior boys and 30 junior girls. This was the first year we entered, and we placed a team of 4 in the junior boys event and we had an individual runner in the junior girls event.

The boys team finished 5th out of 26 units. The individual places were Cdt Bango 14th, Cdt Marshall 25th, Cdt Magloire 35th and Cdt Walsh 37th.

Cdt Cook ran by herself in the girls event and was out front from the start and finished over 5 mins in front of second place, giving 206 their first win at the cross country event.

Cdt Cook is now going to go to represent Middlesex and NW London Sector in the regional competition against the best of London on the 15th February.

If you are between 12-18 and are interested in joining the Army Cadet Force, you can come down the unit at 16 - 18 Stamford Brook Ave. Chiswick between 1900 and 1930 Tuesdays or Thursdays or e-mail Sgt Haran at rayharan@aol.com or visit our website.
