West London was brought to a standstill on (Sunday 12th May) following a serious accident on the A4 near Talgarth Road, Hammersmith.

The incident which involved a moped in collision with a car resulted in the closure of the A4 in both directions at around 5pm.

A London Ambulance Spokesperson said: “We were called at 16.36pm on Sunday 12 May to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike on West Cromwell Road.

“We sent a single responder in a car and two ambulance crews to the scene. Our staff treated two patients – a male reported to be in his early 30s for pain on his left side and shoulder. He was taken as a priority to the major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital.

“A second patient, a man reported to be in his 20s, was treated for a leg injury and also taken to St Mary’s Hospital.”

Among the thousands of people stuck in the jams was filmstar Joan Collins who tweeted, “Terrible accident on A4/Hammersmith roundabout - avoid at all costs! I'm still stuck in the middle of it. Heart goes out to those involved.”

Miss Collins was not involved in the accident.
