A motorcycle delivery rider had to wait over 20 minutes for an ambulance to arrive after being involved in a collision on Chiswick High Road this Saturday night (11 February).

The man was hit by a car turning right into Turnham Green Terrace and became trapped under the vehicle. Police say they were called to the scene at around 9pm. The picture above was taken at 9.19pm and shows that no ambulance had arrived by this time. London Ambulance Service say they were on the scene by 9.21pm eleven minutes after they were aware of nature of the incident.

Eventually the victim was taken to a west London hospital and the road was reopened at some time before 10.13pm. His injuries are described as non-threatening.

The number of accidents involving motorcycle delivery riders in the area appears to be rising. A man was thrown off his bike after colliding with a car on Chiswick High Road in December just a 100 yards away from the scene of the latest incident.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said, “We were called at 9.07pm on Saturday (11 February) to reports of a road traffic collision at Chiswick High Road. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. We treated a man at the scene and took him as a priority to a major trauma centre”

The nature of the incident was determined by the call taker at 9.10pm and an ambulance crew was dispatched soon after.
