A 94 bus driver is being credited with avoiding a very serious accident after his brakes are believed to have failed when pulling off by the terminus at Acton Green this Friday (14 October).

According to other drivers on the route, the driver decided to direct the bus towards a lamppost to stop it careering into traffic on South Paraded at around 6.50pm. This brought the vehicle into contact with three cars including a Tesla causing them to be seriously damaged. A pedestrian refuge and a bike stand were also driven over. The terminus is close to the BP petrol station.

There have been no injuries reported.

One local resident told us that the bus hit one parked car outside the Duke of Sussex pub and then pushed it into two others in queueing traffic.

We spoke to a 94 driver the following day who wasn’t sure of the full details of the accident but said that his colleague was ‘a bloody hero’.

We contacted RATP which is the owner of London United the operator of the 94 bus but it was unwilling to comment other than to confirm the collision happened.
