Chiswick Business Park moves into new phase
Exhibition
of plans for the third phase of development to be held including
details of transport improvements
Chiswick
Business Park is to hold two exhibitions on site to let the public
see the proposals for the third phase of development and to highlight
the key transport benefits the developers claim this final phase
will bring to the Chiswick area.
Improved
transport facilities are key to the development and the exhibition
will illustrate the changes that are proposed. These include the
upgrade of Gunnersbury Station with a new ticket hall, more gates,
a wider stairway to the platforms and new larger shelters on the
platforms.
A bridge link and footpath through Colonial drive to Chiswick Park
Station is also proposed. Improvements to local bus services include
an extension of the existing bus route to serve Acton Town Station
terminating at the Park, with provision for further services in
the future.
This
phase will comprise a further two buildings offering around 570,000
sq ft of accommodation. Chiswick Business Park has been designed
by the Richard Rogers Partnership and developed by Stanhope plc
on behalf of the Chiswick Park Unit Trust. When complete, the development
will be home to 10,000 office workers and will offer one of the
largest business ‘campuses’ in Central London.
A planning
application was submitted on 1st August and residents have until
the 22nd August to respond. Terence Thorn the Chairman
of the West Chiswick and Gunnersbury Society expressed concern at
the lack of notification of the application saying, "I am very
surprised and concerned that the Business Park have not bothered
to inform the West Chiswick & Gunnersbury Society about their
recent proposals for the Business Park. As the organisation that
represents the area with over 120 members I would have thought they
could have informed us."
The
open days will take place in Building 3 on Chiswick Business Park
between 12pm and 2pm and 5pm and 8pm on Thursday 7th August and
5pm and 8pm on Thursday 4th September.
