Hollywood star Harrison Ford was in Chiswick recently and enjoyed some quiet time in a local pub.

The star of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Bladerunners was cycling when he decided to drop into a pub in Grove Park for a break.

Staff at the gastropub The Station House recognised him but any fans left the actor alone to enjoy his break in peace. The visit was confirmed by the pub manager to chiswickw4.com.

"He came in around five o clock in the evening and stayed for a short time. He didn't have a meal. Then he got on his bike and left," said the manager, adding that the pub was "very happy" the international actor dropped in.

A local resident told chiswickw4.com that the 72-year old actor had also been spotted in a nearby gym but that could not be confirmed.

Harrison Ford was in London over the summer to film Star Wars: Episode VII which is set thirty years after The Return of the Jedi.

During filming in June he suffered a broken leg when the door of the spaceship fell on him at Pinewood Studios. Filming had to stop while the actor recovered.

The Daily Mail posted photographs of Harrison Ford in London two months ago wearing cycling gear and said he had been spotted a number of times cycling around London when filming restarted.

The visit to Chiswick took place a few weeks ago.

In the new Star Wars movie, Ford reunites with Mark Hamill who played Luke Skywalker in the original movie, Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca). The film is set for release next year.

Harrison Ford, who is married to Calista Flockhart since 2010 is said to be the fourth highest grossing domestic box-office star in the US. He has starred in the Star Wars trilogy, and the Indiana Jones film series, Blade Runner, Witness , Presumed Innocent, Patriot Games, and What Lies Beneath, to name but a few.
