A member of staff at the Packhorse and Talbot pub on Chiswick High Road has been taken to hospital after being attacked with a knife on Saturday night (19 February).

The police say they were called to the location at 11:20pm following reports of a stabbing. They found the staff member, which unconfirmed reports say was the manager, with slash injuries to his face and neck and he was taken to hospital. The wounds received are described as 'very serious' but are not believed to be life-threatening.

A member of the pub’s security team was also assaulted and was left with facial injuries.

The pub has remained closed since the incident.

The police say enquiries are ongoing and, at this stage, no arrests have been made.

A spokesperson for the Packhorse & Talbot said, “We run a safe and welcoming pub and Saturday night’s incident has been a huge shock for us all. We are supporting the police’s investigation into what happened and our pub remains closed currently while we support the rest of the team. All our thoughts are with our team member who was hurt as we hope he makes a full recovery.”
