The Police in Chiswick

A 36-year-old woman was attacked with a beer bottle because she would not let go of her handbag.

The incident happened on Sunday 2nd September at 9.30pm as the woman made her way home after attending a yoga class near Turnham Green Terrace.

As she walked along Eastbury Grove with her red bag over her shoulder she noticed a shadow of a person coming closer from behind.

She turned around to see a young man who grabbed her bag and attempted to pull it away. When she resisted, the man began hitting her wrist with an empty green beer bottle, repeatedly, with his free hand.

The woman began screaming for help and a local resident at a flat above where she was attacked, came to her aid.

The victim told police that the suspect ran away along Eastbury Grove towards Ashbourne Grove and then turned right towards Chiswick Lane. She described the suspect as being of Asian appearance, aged between 16 - 18 years with short black hair, clean shaven, smooth skin brown eyes and wearing a white T Shirt.

Witness/Information will be treated in confidence at Hounslow CID 0208 247 6160/5940 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 0800 555111.
