The Police in Chiswick

The Chiswick home that Richard Bacon shares with his girlfriend was burgled as they slept. The intruders broke in through a tiny window and stole cash, credit cards and the keys to his car.

Bacon explained how he had heard something but didn’t think it was anything untoward "My place is full of creaks and noises at night. I've got up before to look for an intruder and found nothing. So this time I turned over and stayed in bed." he said.

He only realised what had happened when the bank informed him of a large amount of uncharacteristic spending on his credit cards. Although his car keys where stolen, his expensive BMW had been left where he parked it outside his home.

Bacon, who lives a few doors away from Ant and Dec, was relived that his experience wasn’t as bad as that of football’s Juan Sebastian Veron who was threatened with a machete by thieves that broke into his home just down the river in Barnes.
