Police responding to a report of an unsecured house discovered more than they bargained for.

Officers were called to a home in Merton Avenue on the afternoon of Tuesday 9th February by a concerned neighbour who had seen that a door had been smashed.

Officers entered the house but instead of finding a burglar on the premises, they discovered a fully functioning cannabis factory consisting of three rooms full of cannabis plants and growing equipment.

The owners of the factory however, were nowhere to be seen.

A full forensic examination has taken place and enquiries to trace the occupiers are being led by detectives from Hounslow CID.
