A 47-year-old man has been arrested following the discovery of a hoard of indecent material at an address believed to be Rothschild Road, Chiswick.

Officers from the UK Border Agency's Criminal and Financial Investigations unit raided the property on Friday 28 August. They discovered a significant quantity of indecent material at the address.

The man was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the importation of indecent material. He was later bailed pending further enquiries.

The items found at the address are now being examined by officers from the Metropolitan Police Service.

The operation had been prompted by the seizure of a package of material by UK Border Agency officers based at the Coventry International Postal Hub.

Peter Avery, Assistant Director of the UK Border Agency's Criminal and Financial Investigations unit, said, "Our officers work around the clock at ports and airports — and behind the scenes at postal sorting offices — to keep indecent material, illegal drugs, counterfeit goods and firearms out of the UK.

"Anyone with information about activity they suspect may be linked to smuggling should call 0800 595 000.”
