Peter Allott, the former deputy head at a local school and ward councillor for Perivale has been jailed for just under three years at Blackfriars Crown Court (5 May).

He had pleaded guilty to charges relating to the possession and making of indecent images of children and possession of a Class A drug.

37-year-old Allott, who taught at St. Benedict's School in Ealing, and served as ward councillor for Perivale on Ealing Council, admitted three counts of making indecent images of children, one of possessing indecent images of children, one of possessing extreme pornography and one of possessing MDMA.

According to the NCA his activities were learnt of when intelligence was received that he had been using video conferencing software to share indecent images of children. He was arrested on 7 December and was charged in the Crown Court on 23 December and has been in police custody since.

An NSPCC spokesperson said: “The fact is indecent pictures of children are images of crime scenes. Peter Allott was fuelling an industry which meant more children were abused to meet demand.

“Not enough is being done to tackle this vile trade and cut off this material at the source."
