Fire crews were called to a fire at a house converted into flats on Bath Road in Chiswick last night (Thursday 30th August).

The fire started in a communal area and damaged part of the ground floor.

A woman was led to safety via an internal staircase by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. She was suffering from smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by an Ambulance crew.

A further 15 people had left the building before the Brigade arrived.

The Brigade was called at 23.43 and the fire was under control by 00.27.

Fire crews from Chiswick and Hammersmith fire stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
