A customer got more than they bargained for at Sainsbury's this week after their car 'set itself' on fire.

The incident happened on Friday 3rd April at around 2.00pm. Staff were alerted by a member of the public that flames were coming from the bonnet of a Mercedes parked in the supermarket's carpark.

Firefighters from Chiswick Fire Station were called to the scene and took more than 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

No one was hurt in the incident which is thought to have been caused by a technical fault with the car.
