Ealing Council are to run another consultation into the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) 'R' in north Chiswick. They say it is necessary because, although a previous consultation in April 2012 showed that a majority of residents were in favour of shorter operating hours, the proportion opting for change wasn't big enough. This time they say that at least 60% of respondents would need to be in favour of this for the change to take place! Your local Councillors have arranged for there to be a re-consultation so that the issue can be discussed again.

The consultation will affect residents in zone R which includes Hatfield Road, Greenend Road, some of Southfield Road, Carlton Road, Clovelly Road, Brookfield Road and others in the area. If you live in these roads you should receive a paper based form and there is an online survey link which you can use as well.

Councillor Andrew Steed said: “We feel that there are many more benefits to having a shorter CPZ time in place as it would still stop commuter parking, it would be cheaper for the permits every year and it would allow you to avoid paying the high price of visitors vouchers when carers or worker come to make repairs at your home. Make sure when you get the form you complete it so that the Council will not ignore your views."

The closing date for responses is 20th December 2013.
