Both Ealing Council and the operators of the E3 bus route have admitted that planning was needed after residents were left without a bus service for weeks on end.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Harvey Rose said, “Many residents, especially the elderly, were left without the bus they rely on. I discussed the issue with the bus company and the Council who admitted that better planning was needed when repair works take place so people are not affected so badly.”

Work to repair a burst water main closed Southfield Road diverting the E3 bus for more than a week prior to National Grid starting gas mains replacement works in the area.

The works were programmed for the school holidays to minimise the impact on traffic flow and should be completed by Sunday 5th September at the latest.
