Chiswick traffic came almost to a halt on Tuesday 7th March following a serious incident on the High Road.

The accident, which happened at 14.40 on the High Road between Turnham Green Terrace and Chiswick Lane, involved a red Audi car and a van.

Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are yet to issue the results of their findings into how the accident happened.  However, local Police have confirmed that a 75 year old man was taken from the scene to hospital unconscious where he remains in Intensive Care.

The Chiswick High Road was closed in both directions for more than three hours which resulted heavy traffic.  Road chaos was exacerbated by the fact that the closure spanned the school run and rush hour.
