Thames Water's urgent repairs to a collapsed sewer on Chiswick High Road at the junction with Heathfield Terrace have been postponed due to the Council "further evaluating the contractor's proposed traffic management for this project"

A new start date for the works, which were set to commence on Saturday 17th March, has not yet been set although the Council has promised that a further announcement will be made in due course.

The location of the repair will necessitate switching off the existing traffic signals at the junction and installing temporary traffic signals to operate on three phases. The lights will be set back from the junction to allow vehicles to navigate through the junction and around the works. This will result in the loss of the pedestrian lights and the complete closure of the pedestrian crossing to the east of the junction.

Also, due to the close proximity of the Dukes Avenue junction the lights at this junction will also be switched off. Traffic exiting from Dukes Avenue will do so without any form of signal control.

Significant delays are expected in the area.
