Residents in Grove Park and Strand-on-the-Green are invited to a meeting to discuss proposals for a controlled parking zone in the area.

The meeting will take place on Monday 2 November at 7:30pm at Strand-on-the-Green School (Brook Lane entrance).

The full proposals for discussion can be found at http://www.hounslow.gov.uk/grove_park_strand_cpz.pdf

The meeting has been organised after Chiswick Area Planning Committee was presented with the findings of the preliminary consultation carried out in Grove Park and Strand on the Green last month.

Members were presented with figures that showed that although there were two clearly defined 'clusters' of support for the introduction of a CPZ, there remained a large areas were residents were against. However, the method used to present these figures was called into question not just by a number of residents but also by Riverside Cllr Sam Hearn who was chairing the meeting.

It was felt that the figures had been put forward in a way that was not reflective of the true amount of support for the introduction of a parking scheme because only the responses of residents who felt that there was a traffic problem in their roads had been taken into account.

It was agreed that a wider consultation should be carried out taking in all roads that are currently affected by parking issues and also those roads that could find themselves affected by displaced parking from roads included in a CPZ.
