The Vicar of St Michael's Church, Elmwood Road, the Rev'd Martine Oborne is recovering in hospital following surgery and is not expected to return to her church duties for several weeks.

She was taken to hospital on Wednesday 17th June, and underwent surgery on Friday. Her condition was described as serious but not life-threatening.

The Rev'd Oborne is still in hospital at the time of writing and recovering satisfactorily, but she is not expected to return to church duties for several weeks.

The community of St Michael's has sent good wishes and prayers for her full recovery.

The Rev'd Oborne is Chiswick's only female vicar and only the 10th vicar in the 100-year history of St Michael's.

Martine is married to Peter Oborne, the political commentator, author and documentary filmmaker. They have five children.
