Paxton Road, Short Road and Sutherland Road, are to be removed from the existing Chiswick Mall CPZ and will be incorporated into a new CPZ with the proposed operational hours of Monday-Sunday, 9am-8pm.

The roads, which are close to Chiswick House, have previously complained of visitors parking during events, including the recent Chinese festival.

Corney Road and Dartmouth Place remain part of the existing Chiswick Mall CPZ as a recent consultation showed that there was little or no support for change

The proposed new CPZ will now be progressed to the formal (statutory) consultation stage.

In July 2017, the Council undertook a review of the Chiswick Mall CPZ by means of a questionnaire delivered to each property within the zone requesting residents/businesses views of the existing CPZ and its operational times.

The results of that consultation indicated support from respondents of Corney Road, Paxton Road, Short Road and Sutherland Road for changes to the existing CPZ operational times.

Following consideration of these consultation results at the Tuesday 26 October 2017 Chiswick Area Forum, Councillors agreed that no changes should be proposed to the roads in the eastern cluster of roads, namely Airedale Avenue South, British Grove South, Chiswick Lane South, Chiswick Mall, Church Street, Mawson Lane, Netheravon Road South and Pumping Station Road, due to their satisfaction with the existing CPZ.

However, due to the concerns raised by roads in the western cluster, Corney Road, Paxton Road, Short Road and Sutherland Road, it was agreed that further consultation be undertaken with those roads regarding the possible creation of a new CPZ with different operational times. Due to its isolation from the eastern cluster of roads, this consultation would also include Dartmouth Place despite respondents of this road indicating satisfaction with the existing Chiswick Mall CPZ.

The responses to question 1, which asked residents whether they would support the introduction of a new CPZ which incorporates the western cluster of roads only, the majority of respondents from Paxton Road (37 to 1), Short Road (5 to 1) and Sutherland Road (11 to 0) indicated support for a new CPZ. The responses from Corney Road were equally split with 8 in support and 8 opposed to the creation of a new CPZ. The response from Dartmouth Place (4 to 1) were opposed to the creation of a separate CPZ.
