Paul Doe, Chief Executive of Shepherds Bush Housing Group, which is based in Chiswick, has been awarded an MBE for services to housing and voluntary services to tackling homelessness. He has been chief executive of SBHG for 19 years.

SBHG has more than 5000 homes across west London and offers many additional services to its residents and the wider community. Paul was also a board member of St Mungo’s for nine years and its chair for five years. St Mungo’s helps 25,000 people a year across London and the south east.

Paul also chairs the National Housing Federation Wellbeing and Social Enterprise Group and is a board member of PlaceShapers, a network of more than 100 community based housing associations.

Paul said: ‘ I am thrilled by this award. It is recognition for me I know but also for the work of Shepherds Bush Housing Group in the local community. SBHG has been working at the heart of Chiswick for the last 25 years and owns and manages homes in many Chiswick streets. We continue to invest in the community and our ‘Love Local’ campaign is highlighting to residents the exciting work we do beyond bricks and mortar. Our recent Love Local heroes award is an example of this. I think this award is a recognition of what we do in our communities as much as for my personal leadership of the Group. Russell Caller, Chair of SBHG, said: “This is a wonderful tribute to Paul's dedication and commitment and a great honour for SBHG. SBHG is part of the west London community and, while we have grown, we stay true to the principles set when we were founded in 1968: to provide affordable homes and services for people that need them.'

If you or someone you know who lives in the Chiswick area was recognised in this year's list we'd like to make sure you get due recognition so please let us know at editor@chiswickw4.com.
