Remembrance Sunday In Chiswick

Chiswick War Memorial

There will be a wreath-laying service at Chiswick War Memorial at 10.30am, followed by a remembrance service at Christ Church, in Turnham Green. Chiswick Riverside Ward Councillor Paul Lynch is attending.

A Choral Requiem Mass on Remembrance Sunday at St Michael & All Angels will take place from 9.45am to 11.15 followed by procession to the War Memorial.

Services will take place across the borough and serving military personnel, cubs, scouts and guides will parade their colours alongside veterans, who will lay wreaths in memory of fallen friends.  The event in Hounslow will include a military parade from 10.30am which will include The Irish Guards, Gurkha Veterans, local cadet forces, Royal British Legion and the Asian Elders.

Next Friday (11 November), Armistice Day, the council’s Service of Remembrance will take place in Hounslow High Street, outside Holy Trinity Church.

Armistice Day commemorates the eleventh hour of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month of 1918 when peace terms were signed ending the Great War in 1918.
