Chiswick foodie Andy Hayler has become the the only person to have have eaten at every three Michelin star restuarant in the world.

Hayler's recent £500 dinner at New York's Per Se brought his total to 68 setting, he believes, a new world record. His total dining bill amounted to around £15,000, plus a similar amount on travel and accommodation as his quest took him to 10 countries in Europe, Asia and America.

Professional food writer and author of the London Transport Restaurant Guide, Hayler has dined in some of the world's finest restaurants over the past 20 years.

He lives in Chiswick with his wife, Stella, who accompanies him on many of his excursions. Closer to home, Hayler told ChiswickW4.com “My favourite Chiswick restaurant is La Trompette; it was great to see a Michelin star finally come to W4.

"I have lived here since 1991 and it has been great to see how the area has transformed over the years. At one time Pizza Express was a high point, but now we have excellent restaurants like Le Vacherin, and authentic locals like Tarantella.

"We are also fortunate in having such excellent food shops in Turnham Green Terrace; I am always popping into Mortimor & Bennet in particular. ”

His website reviews the top restaurants of the world, paid for by Hayler, not by restaurateurs, so represent an independent and honest opinion. He also reviews luxury hotels, publishes notes on wine buying, and writes a weekly food blog.
