Where else but the Chiswick Moran Hotel? The Telegraph’s hotel aficionado Paddy Burt chose this local establishment to review and loved what she found there – drag queen included!

She writes “It's about time I wrote about a London hotel in this column, but this isn't as easy as it sounds. Many of the smaller ones only do b & b - that's because there are so many restaurants to choose from - while the big, well-known places are very expensive.

Then, as if by magic, the website of the Chiswick Moran comes up on my screen.”

She finds the staff charming, the cocktails very good and discovering that there is a drag act in the restaurant, demands a table immediately.

“Who wants to eat in the bar when there's a drag act in the restaurant? Not us”

The drag queen was just one of the acts appearing throughout the wedding celebrations, the others included a string quartet and an opera singer.

Clearly having had a great experience, Ms Burt concludes her review with “The managerial lady appears, to check that we are happy.

"I hope you won't tell all your friends that dinner here is always like this."

"No," I say, "we won't tell anyone."

Well if she doesn’t then neither will we!
