Chiswick and Latymer Cricket Club batsmen made the most of the fine weather to record five centuries over the various teams this weekend. Two of these centuries came in the 1st XI’s remarkable game with OMT.

Chiswick’s opening pair of Wes Van den Berg (45) and Bruce Frederick (94) set the stage before Harpreet Bhatia and Balli Bhatia came and hit the OMT bowlers to all ends of Whitton Park. Balli made 108 not out, while Harpreet’s 150 not out included 10 sixes, and Chiswick declared on 400 for 2 of 49 overs.

OMT’s top order all contributed as they gamely chased a target requiring 8 runs an over, Serje Perreira top scoring with 91. The Chiswick bowlers stuck to the task – Fredericks taking 4 for 31, and OMT were all out 12 runs short.

The 2nd XI drew with Wokingham, Shibu Chacko top scoring for Chiswick with 69. The 3rd XI beat Fleet by a 120 runs, Jiji Singh starring with 111 not out and 3 wickets. The 4th XI lost to Burnham despite a superb 112 from colt Hussain Quazalbash, while the 5th XI had a fine win against Chesham.

Meanwhile, in the Fullers Sunday Old Boy League, Chiswick and Latymer lost to Chispstead and Coulsdon Walcountians by 8 wickets, despite Nick Badman scoring his second hundred of the season for Chiswick.
