Chiswick and Latymer scored valuable points in their push for promotion to division one of the Thames Valley League last Saturday, but couldn’t get the last Finchampstead wicket needed to get the full points, despite excellent bowling from Sunni Singh (5-80). Chisiwick set the home team a total of 249 to win, built around a classy fifty from Stephen Van Eeden, but Finchampstead held on for the draw.

The runs keep flowing at Whitton park, where Jay Dhillon scored 179 for Chiswick 2nd XI in a total of 304-7. What seemed a formidable target was reached with relative ease by league leaders Hillindon Manor in 36 overs, with Sanjay Limbachia also scoring 179.

Chiswick 3rd XI lost at Marlow Park, while the 4th XI recorded their first win of the season, beating Stoke Green at Chiswick House – Mohammed Aziz starring with 54. The 5th XI lost to Marlow by 7 wickets.

In the Sunday Old Boys League, Chiswick and Latymer were beaten by Old Whitgiftians, despite a fine 52 not out Peter Fadden.
